Exclusive Catamaran Cruise- Ile Aux Cerfs Island

The catamaran cruise departs from Trou D’Eau Douce on the East coast of Mauritius.

First the catamaran will cruise along the shore line heading the direction of the Grand River Waterfalls. Then when reaching the Grand River, you will visit the waterfalls which are found about 500m upstream. The journey up the river from the mouth takes place in an authentic setting, planted in the heart of a ravine boasting lush vegetation. The light contrast with the rocky faces is striking.

One can come across fisherman's row boats moored on the banks and partake in unforgettable encounters with the local fauna: bats, white-tailed tropicbirds or herons looking out for fish in-between rocks. The brackish water between the waterfall and the mouth teems with fish. A little further on, monkeys perched on trees or mountainsides overlooking the river observe the human parade. Following the visit to the waterfalls, you will head back to the catamaran.

The catamaran will then sail inside the crystal-clear water of the lagoon until stopping for a snorkeling and swimming break. Snorkelers will have a lot to discover, where they can get a glimpse into the beauty of our underwater world. The Mauritian lagoon is home to some of the world's most breathtaking coral reefs and marine life ever to be seen- you will get to see the amazing marine life, full with hundreds of bright-colored fish. 

A delicious BBQ lunch buffet (optional) will be served on the catamaran after your snorkelling break. Set in the midst of the Mauritian waters, this unique lunch experience with your closed ones is one you’ll cherish forever. Take in the spectacular views around, feeling the seabreeze in your hair as you treat your tastebuds to some flavourful dishes- fish & chicken BBQ, salads, garlic bread, seasonal fruits and a selection of beverages to quench your thirst.

Then you will be heading to Ile aux Cerfs Island which is a beautiful island near the east coast of Mauritius. This amazing paradise island is the perfect setting for a relaxing day of sun worship. As you approach the island by boat, you will see the swaying palm trees and the pure white beaches framed by the vivid turquoise waters.

On Ile aux Cerfs Island you are sure to have some relaxation and fun on one of the picture-postcard beaches or dip your toes in the azure sea. You can also take advantage of the wide range of facilities on the island and the various water sports activities found there.

After the visit to Ile aux Cerfs, you will enjoy the beautiful sail back to Trou D’Eau Douce. The crew members will ensure that you have a pleasant time, and they will be happy to tell you about local tales, jokes, and even play local Mauritian music which will lift the spirits of all on board.

About the catamaran

A spacious and luxury catamaran vessel, 11.57m long, built for comfort, safety, ease of viewing and performance. The large flat decks and trampolines are perfect for lounging in the sun and the huge shaded cockpit offers passengers a comfortable seating area. Its large open seating areas on deck and at the front and rear, are uniquely designed for sunset viewing, photograph taking and socializing.

Exclusive Catamaran Cruise - Ile Aux Cerfs Island - Food & Beverages

• Smoking is strictly prohibited on the catamaran. Clients may smoke when they are at the island/s.
• There is flexibility in the cruise times, itinerary and inclusions (lobster, champagne etc)
• There is a limited number of snorkelling equipment on board, and you are recommended that you bring your own.

Note on Ile aux Cerfs:

• In the event of low tides and difficult sea conditions (especially in winter), a transfer between the catamaran and Ile aux Cerfs is done on a shuttle boat (a 10 - 15 mins trip).
• Depending on sea conditions (rough or impassable pass) boats will be diverted to another destination.
