Full Day Catamaran Cruise with 2 Dives at Coin De Mire

Set sail on the turquoise waters at 9 a.m. in a beautiful catamaran to spend an amazing day at sea. Your journey will begin at Grand Baie. You will be welcomed aboard the catamaran by friendly crew members and a professional diving instructor.

Coin de Mire is very popular among scuba divers for its splendid exploration spots and for the ‘Djabeda’ shipwreck. As you reach the area, you will be equipped for the diving session. The Djabeda wreck is a Japanese fishing boat lying upright on the sandy floor at a depth of 34 metres. The site promises a thrilling and adventurous diving expedition.

You will also get to encounter the thriving marine life around it; colourful corals and a wide range of fish featuring the king fish, moray eels, triggerfish, stone fish, lionfish, parrot fish, leaf fish and sea slugs.

After this amazing exploration, you will return to the catamaran, where a scrumptious lunch, including yummy appetizers and snacks prepared by the crew will be served. Relax on the beach or explore the Flat island through a leisurely walk after lunch.

The catamaran will depart in the afternoon and reach Grand Bay at 4 p.m.

About the Islands

Coin de Mire

The Coin de Mire, also called Gunner's Quoin, situated 8 km north of Mauritius, is well known by divers as one of the best diving sites of the north of Mauritius. At an average depth of 6 meters (depth ranges from 3-9 meters), with crystal clear water offering great visibility, the snorkeling conditions are ideal year-round. The island is a nature reserve and as such it is not possible to go on the island. For those who enjoy bird watching, a number of native birds can be seen flying around the Coin de Mire or nesting in the cracks of the cliffs such as the famous Mauritius national bird - the 'pailles en queue. The Coin de Mire highest point is at 142 meters.

Flat Island

Flat Island, known as Île Plate in French, is located near Round Island, at the extreme north of Mauritius, about 11 kilometers north of Cap Malheureux, the Mauritius' mainland's northernmost point. It houses one of the two working lighthouses in Mauritius.

Flat Island (size of 253 hectares, is the largest of the northern islets) is mostly flat, but has a single hill topped by a lighthouse. The vegetation is heavily modified.

North of Flat Island is Pigeon Rock, a spectacular bare rock stack, where many seabirds come for nesting.

Flat Island is a very popular venue for snorkelers, and also offers great dive sites. The island offers beautiful beaches with crystal clear turquoise water.
