About Glass Bottom Boat Trip to Ile des Deux Cocos with Lunch and Snorkelling Break

Prepare for pure fun, excitement and wonder on water, underwater and on land.

Your trip begins at 10:00 am at Blue Bay Beach where you will hop on board a glass bottom boat with your partner, friends or family. The trip will begin with a briefing on safety measures to be followed on board before the engine revs up and the boat will take you to the first location, the Blue Bay Marine Park! This prized marine park of the Mauritian lagoon is where you can feast your eyes on clear blue waters and a plethora of underwater creatures. During your guided visit to the marine park, you can observe different species of colourful fish and corals through the large glass panes at the bottom of the vessel.

After the guided tour of the Blue Bay Marine Park, you will be able to dive into the waters and meet the different species living around the marine park on a snorkelling break. All the necessary equipment such as mask, tuba and other safety gear will be provided for a safe and proper snorkelling session. Throughout your dive, you will encounter many wonderful species residing in the marine park and, if you are lucky enough that day, you may also encounter turtles!

Board the boat to continue your journey. The next destination will be Ile des Deux Cocos, where you can relax on this beautiful tropical island for an hour. Seize this opportunity to relax on the sandy beach, take a leisurely stroll and enjoy a refreshing swim in the crystal-clear waters.

After all that fun and relaxation, it’s time for lunch. Choose from a Chicken, Fish or Vegetarian Menu plus dessert and the kids aren't forgotten either, with a special menu just for them. Enjoy the freshly prepared lunch by the local chef with all local and fresh ingredients.

After spending your day exploring and discovering the southeast coast of the island, sit back, relax and live life like an islander, sharing your experience with your loved ones around the table.

About the Blue Bay Marine Park

The Blue Bay lagoon is a very rich marine area due to its incredible fauna and flora. The park spans over 353 hectares of pure marine beauty which is recognised world over as one of the most beautiful underwater ecosystems.

Blue Bay marine park starts from the lagoon and extends about one kilometre seaward from the reef crest. It is home to mangroves, algae, sea grasses, corals and other marine life. There is also a wide variety of fish species, including damselfish, surgeonfish, butterflyfish, juvenile tangs, tiny pipefish and large trumpetfish.

At an average depth of 5.5 meters, with crystal clear water offering great visibility, the snorkelling conditions are ideal. You will have a great view of the reef, fish and a large selection of corals (there are more than 50 different species of corals at the park!).

The park is protected by the international RAMSAR Convention (Convention for the Protection of all the World's Wetlands) - second in fact to Rivulet Terre Rouge for migratory birds. In order to protect marine life from negative impacts (pollution, sedimentation), Blue Bay was declared a national park in 1997 under the Wildlife and National Parks Act and in 2000 it officially became a marine protected area under the Fisheries and Marine Resources Act of 1998.

In 2008, 38 species of corals and 72 species of fish were identified in the waters. A Glass bottom boat ride and snorkelling are the best possible ways for you to admire this marine sanctuary without disturbing the ecosystem.

About Îles des Deux Cocos

In the middle of the Blue Bay Marine Park, on the southeast coast of Mauritius, lies the majestic island of Deux Cocos (the island of coconuts) which rises from the ocean to welcome you to its tropical paradise.

Fringed with sandy beaches and clear waters, this small island is also rich with native vegetation which you can discover by following one of the many walking trails. Of course, you can also just relax beneath one of the many palm trees and watch the sparkling ocean. The south coast of Ile des Deux Cocos offers dramatic views of the ocean pounding against the reefs and of the mountain range of Mauritius’ east coast.
